Marriage in Abu Dhabi for non-Muslim women living in Saudi

|

A wedding can be pretty stressful, especially when there are so many other options. The couple must arrange everything, from venues to rental cars. However, if you are planning a destination wedding or getting married as an expat in Abu Dhabi, marriage registration should be the most crucial consideration.

Let’s look at the registration details and other things to consider when planning your special day in Uae.

HOW DO YOU REGISTER YOUR MARRIAGE IN ABU DHABI?

A Uae wedding registration is a rigorous procedure. The registration process is simple if the couples have Emirates citizenship. A Muslim couple can also register their marriage in court. The government maintained the same option for tourists and couples on visitor visas. The fundamental rules are as follows:

  • The couple must be above the legal age.
  • The couple must submit their birth certificates and passport copies.
  • The other laws vary depending upon the requirement of the embassy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-MUSLIM LADIES TO GET MARRIED IN ABU DHABI

Non-Muslim expats can marry in Abu Dhabi according to their home country’s laws. To be eligible to marry in Abu Dhabi, expats must meet the following requirements:

  • The bride and groom must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have two witnesses for the ceremony.
  • Copies of the passports.
  • Couple’s birth certificates.
  • Valid ID of the witnesses.
  • Proof of divorce or death of a previous spouse (where applicable).

IN CONCLUSION OF YOUR ABU DHABI WEDDING REGISTRATION PROCESS

A wedding involves a lot of moving parts that must all come together to make your day unforgettable. However, the paperwork, legalization, and documents should not be taken lightly

If you are from the same country or religion, registration may be easier than if you are from a different one. Couples may be required to submit additional paperwork by some UAE embassies. Before you begin planning an expat wedding in Abu Dhabi, contact your embassies to learn more about the process and requirements.
